About Elizabeth Maksymovich
Certified Dog Trainer
She grew up with a love of, and a passion for, dogs. During her previous career, she had a side job as a dog sitter and that ignited a fire in her that continued to grow; She definitely wanted to work with dogs. She absorbed as much information on positive reinforcement dog training that she could find and became an amateur dog trainer and enthusiast. After 20 years in her previous career, she decided to follow her passion and received her certification as a dog trainer. She honed her skills in obedience training and canine behavior working in a doggie daycare and teaching group obedience classes.
She strongly believes in relationship-based training and connection to the handler when working with a dog. She believes that each dog is an individual and works to build a training plan that works best for each dog and their family.
She has two dogs of her own, who are amazing considering “Mom” comes home every day smelling like other dogs. Even though they know she is “cheating on them,” they always welcome her home with all the love and enthusiasm they can muster. One of her dogs is Dechlan, who is 10-year-old Newfoundland mix. They became a family when he was 8 weeks old and he’s been her very best friend ever since. Her other dog is Brody, who is her 4-ish-year-old rescue. He is a Rottweiler/Sheltie mix and although they have had their ups and downs, he is one of the sweetest souls she has ever met!
She still has to pinch herself that her job is working with and helping dogs and their families! For her, this is the epitome of a labor of love.
