About Lisa Krieger
CPDT-KA, ABCDT
Lisa, a Colorado native and certified dog trainer, has been professionally training canines for the past 5 years. She began her career teaching puppy socialization classes to adopters for a local rescue group, as well as group classes at the Humane Society. She has experience working with all breeds of all ages and thrives on building confidence for rescue and shelter dogs. She has 3 rescue hounds of her own, as well as 3 children, and understands all too well what it takes to create a harmonious environment for families and their dogs.
For the past 2 years, Lisa has been a trainer for Freedom Service Dogs of America where she trained dogs for children with Autism, people living with a variety of mobility challenges, Veterans with PTSD, and specialized in coaching Veterans on how to train their own service dogs through the Operation Full Circle Program. Witnessing the relationship between service dogs and their clients and the improvements in their lives has been a highlight of her career as well as the motivation to continuing learning all she can about the human-canine connection.
Lisa is continuing to use her talents and passion to teach families how to train and build healthy, happy relationships with their dogs using science-based, positive reinforcement methods. She whole-heartedly believes that with trust and clear communication any dog can reach its full potential. Lisa is eager to explore the owner-based side of service dog training as well as help families maximize the bond they share with their family pets. She is thrilled to be a part of the Upward Dog Colorado training team and looking forward to being a part of the training experience for Colorado dogs and the families who love them.
